Mrs. Gina Cayce teaches the 2nd grade with 18 students. (2007-2008) Mrs. Gina Cayce teaches the following, Religion, Mathematics, Reading, Science, Science and Language Arts (which includes English, Spelling and writing). Mrs. Cayce’s favorite subject to teach is Mathematics. Throughout the year, the 2nd grade students prepare and learn about the Sacraments, which include Reconciliation and the Eucharist. During a certain period of time, the students make their First Reconciliation and First Communion. Mrs. Cayce enjoys seeing the students learn and the feeling of them understanding.
Each classroom has a Saint and Saint Prayer, the 2nd grade’s Saint is Saint Joseph and the Prayer is Prayer of Saint Joseph.
The basic classroom rules include, listening, do your best, respect others, don’t talk when told not to, raise your hand to talk, ect. In the 2nd grade class, the students are getting to be more independent, better listeners, self-motivated and they are still excited with curiosity about learning. Most of the classes go on the annual Pumpkin Patch, usual in October.
Mrs. Gina Cayce has been teaching for 34 years in the Christian County Public school system. This is her first year teaching here at Saints Peter and Paul. She is a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and has attended Saints Peter and Paul School from 1st to 8th grade. She has two sons, BJ and Bart Cayce. Both living in Hopkinsville and work at Cayce Mill. Some of Mrs. Gina Cayce’s hobbies include, spending time with her family, working part-time at Garnett farms office, looking at antique furniture, and going to auctions.
