2008 Spring Series
Official Rules
The
following rules will be used to govern the 2008 Spring Series.
Team
Composition:
Each team will be required to roster a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 10 players.
Teams
consisting of all females will participate in the “Girls” division. Teams consisting of all males will
participate in the “Boys” division. Coed
teams will participate in the “Boys” division.
Field
of Play:
The
playing field will consist of six players, one of whom will be the goalkeeper,
and will be identified by a non-conflicting shirt.
The
minimum field size to start a game will be 5.
The minimum field size to end a game will be 4.
EACH
PLAYER MUST PLAY AT LEAST 50% OF THE GAME.
Game:
All games will be played with a size 5 soccer ball.
All games will consist of two
25-minute halves, and a five-minute halftime.
All
field players with the exception of the goalkeeper will wear league issued
jerseys.
Teams
are encouraged to do as much warm-up as possible before taking the field to help
keep games on schedule. There will not
be enough time between games to do a full warm-up on the field.
Game
time plus 5 minutes is forfeit time.
Substitutions
will be allowed at the following times:
1. Team with possession on
corner kicks.
2. Both teams on goal kicks.
3. Both teams after a score.
4. At throw-ins, both teams may
substitute provided the favorable team has a substitute waiting to enter the
game.
5. Yellow-carded players must
be substituted for at least 1 play.
6. Red-carded players will not
be replaced.
Yellow
and red cards will be used and unsportsmanlike conduct will not be
permitted. ANY player receiving a
red card will be ineligible to continue the game in which the offense occurred
and will also miss the next scheduled game.
ANY PLAYER RECEIVING 2 RED CARDS IN A SEASON WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE
LEAGUE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON, AND POSTSEASON. Any player or spectator involved in a fight
on the event premises will be removed from the league for the remainder of the
season, and the police will be called.
Referee’s decisions are final, and shall not be questioned by any player
or spectator.
Any
team allowing a non-rostered player to participate in a game for their team
will be forced to forfeit that game, and each member of the offending team will
have a red card recorded in their name.
Post
Season:
Post-season brackets will be set based on the records from the regular season games. The tournament will be single elimination, with the championship team receiving a championship shirt.
A
player must participate in at least 4 regular season games to be eligible to
participate in post-season play.
COACHES
AND PLAYERS ONLY ARE ALLOWED ON PLAYERS SIDE.
ALL SPECTATORS MUST SIT ON OPPOSING SIDE. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO SIT ON THE ENDS OF
THE FIELD.
